Dual Language Literature, Specialty Resources & Programs
conCiencia's Keystone tradebook series are written in English & Spanish to complement our concept-rich curriculum. All of our trade books are written by an authentic author and provide clear and strong academic connections to NGSS and C3 National Social Studies Standards. We also offer a "Write with the Author" workshop for classroom teachers and their students.
Coming Soon: Keep an eye out for our new Emergent Biliteracy Foundational Skills program. It is sure to be a crowd pleaser as it is designed to support the emergent bilingual reader with a multi-language friendly scope and sequence. The lessons keep a strong focus on comparing and contrasting the sounds of both English and Spanish alphabets, spelling patterns, and orthographic knowledge across languages. Teachers will find the pacing to be effective and time-saving. We will be previewing sample lessons as they become available.
General Program & Biliteracy Workshops
Our workshops and coaching support all K-12 teachers in literacy best practices, i.e., reading comprehension, writing to sources, word knowledge, fluency, and effective writing in the 3 modes of CCSS. For dual and bilingual we offer authentic biliteracy strategies, establishing biliterate writing trajectories in the 3 modes of CCSS, and tools for establishing a strong ELD block where students make the necessary connections through cross-linguistic lessons that systematically incorporate oracy and metalanguage in purposeful ways.
